, but my version is the older 766. This is my second air rifle, and it was my best friend next to my dog. I loved to shoot that gun. I was 13 years old. Every day I would walk through the small three and a half acre place my dad bought. It had thick trees, open areas, and a creek. The creek fed off of a large private lake and always had fish, sometimes very big fish. And it also had plenty of snakes. My friends and I would sit up on the bank ten feet or so above the water and wait form them to come swimming out.
One day a snake came out and swam across the wide portion of the water, when he was in the middle, we opened fire! With BB's splashing all around him, he dove under the water. When he resurfaced he swam franticly trying to get to safety. We sent a swarm of BB's again to which he also dove again. Every time he came up, we would follow with the assault.
Now I must say that BB's are not the most accurate projectile at that distance of close to thirty yards especially with a scared moving target. I don't think we ever hit him. But we did almost drown him. He went under as soon as he would surface. Finally out of desperation he launched himself almost straight out of the water a good three or four feet, came down with a splash and made waves out of sight!
That was the coolest thing I have ever seen a snake do.
